The Ripple Nano ATO is a compact yet powerful Auto Top Off (ATO) System that incorporates a unique twin optical sensor design to substantially improve the devices reliability over similar designed products.
So how do they work? Simply mount the Nano ATO Controller to the tank or sump chamber at the desired water height within your Aquarium or sump filters return pump chamber. As the water level drops the ATO Controllers optical sensor detects this triggering the return pump mounted in a reservoir to replenish the water in the system. When the water level reaches the set height the optical sensor triggers the pump to stop. It really doesn't matter how big your Aquarium is, the Nano ATO is suitable for any volume tank.
The Ripple Nano ATO has some features that make it more accurate and reliable than other optical ATO systems on the market. Its reliability and accuracy can be attributed primarily to twin optical sensor technology (high & low level sensors), a first of its kind to be incorporated into a single ATO device. For additional safety the Ripple Nano ATO also has a run time 'over fill' protectionfeature which automatically shuts off the pump if the refilling time is 1.5x greater than the average of its previous refill events. Furthermore this device doesn't just determine an overfill protection time based on the first fill event like other smart ATO's, it learns and adjusts over time for real-time accurate overfill protection. Very smart and very safe indeed. There is zero chance of an overfill or flooding event using a Ripple Nano ATO.
Anyone that as used an Optical sensor ATO before would be familiar with protection faults which are usually the result of surface turbulence which is known to confuse optical water level sensors. Other things that can confuse Optical sensors include sudden changes in light intensity and of course when the sensor becomes covered by an inhabitant within the Aquarium such as a snail or an anemone. To combat this we've designed a 'Protective Splash Cover'. This allows water to reach the sensor without disturbances such as splash whilst providing shade from light and it also protects the surface of the sensor from being compromised by an inhabitant of the tank. The Protective Splash Cover is a very smart addition of this device that significantly improves reliability over other optical ATO devices.
The Ripple Nano ATO uses simple to understand LED Light Indicators to indicate system functions without an audible alert. We found that this unit was so reliable in such a large range of scenarios that the frequency between alerts was so few that an audible alert was not required.
The Ripple Nano ATO sensor is mounted on the wet side of the chamber placing the sensor in direct contact with the water. This greatly improves it's accuracy over our previous version. Both the sensor and the magnetic holder are plastic encased and waterproof sealed which means that the Nano ATO can be placed in areas that require both sides of the unit to be submerged i.e. between a return pump chamber and another wet chamber using strong magnets suitable for glass up to 15mm thick.
The cable lengths provided allow for installation on Aquariums that have long distances between the sensing point and the reservoir with a total length between the power plug and ATO sensor being 3.3m (ATO sensor to controller is 1.8m and the controller to power plug 1.5m). The pump which also connects to the controller is 1.5m long.
